Went for a wedding anniversary with the husband. It’s been 10 years since I went to Yunnan so I was expecting a fragrant spicy aroma that I had while studying abroad. The jasmine tea they served (complimentary) was so aromatic I drank so many cupfuls. My favorite appetizers were the beef skewers covered in aromatic spices (beware peanut allergies). I also thoroughly enjoyed an oyster dish served in a giant oyster shell with chili oil garlic and a few small oysters. For our main courses we ordered the signature noodles which were so beautiful but that one is non spicy (if you can handle the heat then order spicy noodle dishes- there are so many in the menu!) we also got sauerkraut fish noodle dishes. Both came in a dark clay pot that traps heat. The sauerkraut fish noodle dish is something I’ve had in other restaurants but this one came with strips of seaweed, tofu and loaded with small chili pepper bits. I wasn’t as big a fan of the noodles as I was the side dishes, but I will come back and try other noodle dishes. We got a free grapefruit drink and chili thin sliced pig ear appetizers for free! They have perks for joining the restaurant membership fan club - it’s a good idea if you want to come regularly. Service was great the waitress took lots of nice photos of hubby and I. Decor is so soothing and beautiful.

I actually tried the noodles at their other locations, but only for takeout. This is my first time dining in and I will definitely be coming back. The interior is like a Chinese tea house and the seating is comfortable and private. Would make a nice family meal or date spot. Food — everything I had was good. House special noodle served hot and assembled at the table. Fried mushrooms were crispy and not too much batter which is ideal. Flaming shrimps were fun to watch the fire and the amount of shrimp is worth it. Soup dumplings were pretty good too. My favorite side dish was definitely the grilled garlic oyster. They were huge!

We ordered the Beef Mixed Vermicelli, Seafood Clay Pot Vermicelli, Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken, Classic Black Stinky Tofu, and Beef and Lamb Skewers - everything was delicious. The restaurant has a cozy, traditional vibe, and the wood-accented tableware really ties the whole experience together. Great food, great atmosphere, and definitely a hidden gem on Long Island.

Deng Ji was definitely a great experience. The food was made fresh and incredibly flavorful. The staff was friendly and attentive. One thing that stood out is the atmosphere. It's definitely one of the nicest places I've been for casual dining. The decoration and even the dishes are beautiful. I absolutely love the privacy you get at every table. The only thing I would note is the diversity of the dishes. By no means do I think it's not a good selection, but you have to be somewhat familiar with traditional Chinese dishes before going to manage your expectations. For me, I found pretty much everything I wanted. Highly recommend.

Came here specifically for the toothpick beef and it did not disappoint. Super crispy, packed with flavor, and the spice builds with every bite without overpowering the dish. I’d say the heat level is around a 7–8/10, definitely satisfying if you enjoy spicy food. Portions were generous, the food came out hot and fresh, and everything felt authentic and well seasoned. Overall a solid spot for bold Chinese flavors on Long Island, and the toothpick beef alone is worth the visit. Would definitely come back to try more from the menu.

Fantastic meal! Their YunNan GuoQiao Rice Noodles are a must-try. I've always loved them, and my boyfriend tried them for the first time and is now a huge fan! We also enjoyed the Pineapple Fried Rice, along with some delicious skewers, the Bridge Ribs, and soup Dumpling. Everything was spot-on! The staff were super friendly and the service was quick. Highly recommend this place.

First time here for me but my niece and nephew (both under 10) have been many times; it's one of their fave restaurants. My nephew eats a lot when he comes here - scallion pancake and young chow fried rice. Pretty good prices. Yummy food. The jasmine tea is mmm good and kept warm in a teapot over fire. Spacious seating. Good experience. I would recommend to others. And I would come back.

A fantastic place for authentic Chinese! Each dish was a fantastic blast of flavor. The cold cucumbers had a nice chili sauce. The skewers were tender and sprinkled with flavorful spices. The hot pot was filled with fresh ingredients and the broth was excellent. Service was great and the atmosphere was nice. Would recommend!
